Our Shipibo Maestros & founders are Maestro Deodemero Matios Maynas and Maestra Rosenda Melendez Flores. They both come from a long line of healers in their family and have been working with Ayahuasca for over 20 years. With experience working in a variety of different well-renowned centers in Iquitos and Pucallpa, they are now working for themselves, together as a family.

“There was the me before and the me after attending my first Ayahuasca retreat with Maestro Deodomero and Maestra Rosenda. Prior to Ayahuasca I perceived all of my suffering in life to be circumstantial, but Ayahuasca showed me that my suffering had nothing to do with what I perceived, but how I perceived. I have since learned to change my perspective and this has changed my life.”
— Ryan Grebert, Jochipapanete Facilitator
The Ayahuasca ceremony is an opportunity for participants to receive healing and spiritual guidance from the wisdom of both Ayahuasca medicine and our Shipibo Maestros. Participants arrive at the Maloka at least half an hour before the ceremony to pay respect to the Shaman and to collectively begin to make space for the ceremony.
The ceremony begins in silence with each participant and shaman drinking the ayahuasca medicine, after everyone has drunk, the lighting is reduced to mostly darkness and everyone waits in silence for the ayahuasca medicine to start working.
Once the medicine begins the shaman will start to sing their Icaros.
